Why Galvanised Air Receivers Are In Greater Demand |
Corrosion Resistance For Inner and Outer Rust Prevention All our air receivers are hot-dip galvanised, both internally and externally in accordance with the Directive 2009/105/EC ( 97/23/EC PED for receivers above 900 litres), which means they last approximately 3 times longer than conventional types.1- Because they are also galvanised inside, they can be sited outdoors if you need to save space, 2- Insurance and factory inspectors are far happier when they see you have installed a Galvanised Air Receiver. 3- The lifespan of the air receiver is greatly extended, 4- It comes Complete with 4 large ports and “lifting lug”, 5- Extra ports provided for gauges ETC. 6- A Fitting kit is also supplied for your convenience consisting of Pressure Gauge, Safety Valve and Drain Valve. |
Excellent Maintenance Access Cleaning, maintenance and receiver inspection tasks are made simple because of the generously sized inlets/outlets. |
Why Galvanised?Galvanising a vessel gives your air receiver/tank excellent longevity and corrosion resistance rendering it almost maintenance free. Pressure vessel steel has slightly higher silicone content than structural steel; this silicone causes the zinc coating to build up faster and thicker inside and out resulting in plenty of zinc and greater protection from corrosion. European galvanising companies will meet or exceed the requirements of genuine galvinising. This means, unlike China, they will not “water down” the zinc with aluminium which gives “a nice shiny finish”. This form of penny pinching (known as “Thinning”) is a technique that greatly reduces the coating (saving money) but doesn’t offer you the same corrosion resistance or “peace of mind” that our heavily galvanised receivers will give you.
